Little did we know when we purchased the home that just down the road is a massive open field and wooded area that is a dog lovers paradise. It"s a local favorite for Villagers and their canine companions.
Its a massive area where most people let their pets run free, now this does not mean it is fenced or no way for your pet to go on a self guided run. Our Frankie is still learning the ropes so she remains on an extend leash but Joe runs free. This is Joe.

To walk from Vida Rosa to the field is about 5- 10 minutes depending on you and your pet. We sometimes take them in the golf cart to there and then let them run if it is really warm out. Joe is almost 9 and suffers from Addisons Disease so sometimes the ride is helpful on the way home. There is a well worn path all the way around and it takes us about 30 minutes to walk the circuit . If you go into the woods, don't worry the paths are easy to follow, some kind soul also brings jugs of water there to keep the thirst at bay. Also several bowls there too, though last time we were there a very large dog tried to sit in the bowls to cool off which was funny to watch but required filling the bowls once he left.
Going to the field will also take you right by our areas Community Pool, Lawn Bowl, Croquet, and air gun range. All of these things are available to you as well with a guest pass. The Villages Rec Dept will have people there to loan equipment at different times throughout the week.
To get to the field: go out the back yard and down to the road, turn left and walk to Rio Grande Pool area, the area is behind there. Just go a little further past the Post Office Building and there is an opening in the fence .
Of course if you prefer dog parks there is lots of them around too with large and small fenced areas for your use. I will post about them as well.
